The CNC rotary table with its innovative technology enables a much higher level of accuracy than even the most expensive professional machine. A vertical machining center allows you to produce precisely machined products from both horizontal and vertical views simultaneously. A CNC rotary table allows the user to precisely move the work piece without affecting the other axis. This allows for a user to use one hand to work on a horizontal shaft and then with the other hand to do the same with the vertical shaft. The two-sided nature of the rotary motion also allows for very precise position and force applications. This makes the CNC rotary tables ideal for work done on a CNC plasma cutter, CNC router, CNC jig saw as well as other types of machines.
Many applications make use of CNC rotary tables with some variation of a vertical CNC rotary table. While the original use for the CNC rotary tables was to perform arbor work where the head of the tool is placed at a steeper angle than the rest of the piece, many industries now use horizontal CNC rotary tables for many of their operations. Many commercial CNC plasma cutters make use of the horizontal CNC rotary tables. They are able to cut the wood, brass as well as aluminum and need to have a horizontal plane that is at least 35 inches.
Another variation of a CNC rotary table is the use of a two-axis or fixed CNC rotary table. This is referred to as a captive two-axle CNC rotary table and uses either a gear or cam mechanism to raise and lower the plate. Independently operated pallet raking CNC machines are typically more expensive than non-indexed models. Indexed rotary tables are able to perform the same functions as non-indexed raking CNC machines. They just are able to do it at a more efficient rate. Non-indexed rotary tables are generally less expensive.
The four-axis CNC rotary tables are the most commonly used CNC machines. They are able to perform all the operations necessary to manufacture any product that has the ability to penetrate all layers of material with ease. The operation of the machine is controlled via the computer or via a headset or a touch screen. Most of these machines can operate on up to eight axes.
